An award-winning, nationally published writer with more than 25 years’ experience, I have a passion for finding and telling compelling stories. With a background in journalism, marketing and creative writing, I draw on excellent research, interviewing and writing skills to produce articles, books and marketing copy.

I have been a reporter-researcher at The New Republic magazine and a staff writer at The Chapel Hill News. I have written two historical books for clients and published articles in The New York Times Travel Section, Our State, Photo District News, Carolina Alumni Review, Cornell Alumni Magazine, Princeton Alumni Weekly, Carolina Public Health, UNC Business, The (Raleigh) News & Observer and other magazines and newspapers. I earned a B.A. in English from Cornell University and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Louisiana State University.

My work has won a feature writing award from the North Carolina Press Association and the Evelyn Scott Award for Literary Nonfiction from L.S.U. I live in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
